I used to hate watches. Like always. Never wore them, didn't like them, never. Just a general dislike of watches. Then I met Brian and now I can't live without one. In fact, as I'm writing this, I realized I didn't wear one today and I feel a bit naked. Eesh!
Anyways, I'm not sure what it was about watches when I was growing up, but I just didn't wear them and then as I got older, it just wasn't my style. Of course, my style of punked-out emo-chic then, but still. After I got over the black hair, black shirt, black jeans, black eyeliner bit, I started exploring a bit of fashion and as it turns out, I really love it.
FYI: My fashion mentor is and will always be Meg over at MyMonoChromaticLife.com. Check her out.
Anyways, when my husband (then fiancee) fully admitted his addiction to watches I wasn't exactly on board, but I wasn't stupefied either. Now, nearly 4 years later, I own three. 2 of which I wear pretty consistently, the other, needs a bit of warranty work but if it was in functioning order, I'd be wearing it.
Here's a breakdown of my watches and what drew me to them:
1. Guess Silver: It should be said that I'm definitely a metal watch girl. No leather straps for me. What drew me to this watch was all the sparkly goodness it held with the small gems on the inside, offset by the mother of pearl face. Love it!
2. Fossil Three Had Iridescent Pink: I love pink. I have for ever. It's just my color. So when I saw this, I found it to be a much daintier look than my previous Guess watch. What's better? There's a memory to go along with it. My mother in law and I were at the Citadel Outlets in Los Angeles and we both fell in love with new pink-faced watches. To this day she still wears hers and I wear mine a lot as well.
3. Fossil Rose Gold: This watch is my work horse watch. It's casual enough to wear to work, but glamorous enough to wear out and about (which is like never, but still). I love the rose gold, and, I really can't get enough of it right now!
By the way, I found a ridiculous amount of watches I want to share with you all while looking through Fossil and Guess to find similar watches. Look for that post soon!
