Artist Spotlight: Alexia Sinclair

I've always had a deep appreciation for art. Recently, I've been checking out more and more art and thought it might be fun to a do an artist spotlight every once in a while. So today, I'm going to be featuring one of my favorite digital artist/designers/photographers: Alexia Sinclair.

Now, in today's land there's a lot of varying mediums at artist can use. They can go the route of Monet and use traditional water colors, or take a page from Da Vinci's book and use paint on canvas. However, in today's realm digital art and photography is a huge part of our culture and you see it used everyday.

Alexia Sinclair, in my opinion, is the best digital artist/photographer/designer out there. She manages to seamlessly blend "real" elements with digital elements and short of her telling you, you'd never be able to tell the difference.

Typically, A.Sinclair creates her works in series. The most famous of which is her "Regal Twelve" and "Royal Dozen" series in which she portrays very famous men and women throughout history.

You can check out more of these two series in her Homage App available on iTunes.

Right? Her stuff is amazing. The only thing I wish is that it was a bit more affordable for the everyday person. Occassionally, she will feature a print that is pretty affordable in order to help fund the rest of the series. Currently, she's featuring "Into the Gloaming" at a supporter's price.

photo cred:

Pretty awesome right? Wait until you watch the background story.

Anyways, I hope you find her artwork as awesome as I do. Even though I can't currently afford to hang one on my walls, I do love to stare at it for a while.

Who are some of your favorite artists? I'd love to know. Leave a comment below.
