Not sure what I mean?
Let me help you out.
When you're going to be out in the sun, by the pool, by the lake, in the lake, in the ocean, on the golf course, at the park, or enjoying some outdoor time, the last thing that you want (or need for that matter) on your face is that same heavy foundation you used in January. Instead, it's time to lighten it up a bit and go a little more natural.
Shampoo, Mascara, Blush, Tinted Sunscreen, After Sun, Lip Balm
I really, really, really, really, etc. like the Coola Mineral Rose Essence Tinted Sunscreen. Not only is this a great tint for summer skin, but it's also got an SPF of 20. 20! That's pretty impressive without feeling too heavy of sunscreen-ish. Pretty awesome. For after sun, I like the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion. I was sent this last year in a VoxBox from Influenster.com and really enjoyed. It smells delicious, and does a great job of hydrating your skin after a long day outside. I also use the Elemis Skin Nourshing Milk Bath for after sun hydration because well, I use that stuff for everything. In fact, I just spoke to my father yesterday and told him to try it on some Poison Ivy he picked up at our cabin over the weekend. I'll let you know if it works.
Moving on the the beauty side of things, during the summer when I know I'm going outside to play, I keep it pretty light. We're talking the tinted sunscreen, a blush, mascara, and a lip balm. I was originally going to feature the Sun Bum Lip Balm in Coconut but I feel like I've featured that in nearly every outside collection, so I thought I'd change it up with a new favorite Benefit's LolliBalm Lip Balm. Love this stuff cause it goes on like a true lip balm but gives you a great tint to spruce up your lips a bit. The blush/shadow I like to use is theBalm's Hot Mama. Yowza! This has got that peachy-pink feel you get with NARS Orgasm with a gold shimmer and for summer...watch out. It's freaking fabulous. You can use this as a shadow and a blush for something quick and easy.
I had a talk with my friend last night about mascara's and it reminded me of an old(ish) favorite that I think would be great for summer. Maybelline's LashStilleto is a great mascara for summer. It does a great job of separating the lashes and applying the product evenly.
Finally, the Aveda SunCare Shampoo has been a mainstay in my summer regime for a long time. Not only is Aveda floral based but this is a great shampoo for caring for dried out sun-bleached hair or if you've been swimming. I haven't found a shampoo that I like that does this could of a job.
These products are really my summer go-to products. How about you guys and gals? Do you have any summer go-to products? I'd love to hear about them! Leave a comment below!
