As a designer, you're usually up on the newest and best interior design pieces/trends/ideas, etc. Some people may think, well then you probably have the best home ever. Sadly, I can assure you that this is not the case. Instead I have a house that just sort of works and is full of dog hair. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I just wish that it was a bit more designer and a little less lived in, savvy?
After soul-searching for a while, I finally found my style. Low and behold, it's been there the whole time...
I'm obsessed with Cocktail Ottomans, and have been for a long while. What makes it a cocktail ottoman? It's size and stature. It's a bit larger than a traditional ottoman, and a bit shorter than a coffee table.
Not sure what an uplight is? It's exactly what it sounds like. A light, that points up instead of down. A sconce turned upside down if you will. Love these for our nightstands.
Mixing metal and wood is one of my favorite ways to add a lot of texture to your home. I love this desk for a sideboard, buffet, or even a desk.
Usually, anything that says Malibu I stay away from on purpose. but, this is a great, clean-lined bedding set. Hint: If you want a cheap way to re-do your bedding, always opt for a duvet cover. It will save you tons.
And the piece de la resistance, a freaking plaid rug. This rug right here made my week. I've searching for a good area rug since
the beginning of time I threw our old one away a few months ago and I'm happy to say I've finally found it.
Those are a few of the pieces I'll be adding to my home to make it fit my style a little better, dog hair and all.
