Mini Book Haul + A Few Thoughts on January

Here we are in the second week of February already, and I really can't believe it. Where did January go? I went into the new year with a different outlook than past years. No big resolutions, but at the same time, I actually did make a decision to try and be a bit happier about things in general. Part of my plan is to do more of what I love to do, work on my self-acceptance and the courage to do so, and just be a bit tidier.

Rising Strong by Dr. Brene Brown is actually the third book in a series she has written about vulnerability, shame, and imperfections. There's actually four books, but the first was pretty clinical and is more like a white paper, so I would recommend that book (I Thought It Was Just Me) to only hardcore people; however, I recommend her other books (The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly) to literally everyone I meet.

#Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso is perhaps the one I'm most excited to read. Amoruso is the CEO and creator of Nasty Gal. This book isn't written like your typical business book. This talks about business and fashion sure, but with quotes like "Things may come to those who wait but only the things left by those who hustle." - Abraham Lincoln I'm sure I'm going to learn a helluva lot.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo I'm sure you've all heard of by now. This is not normally something I'd go for, but I thought hey, if it can give me a tip or two about how to keep a bit tidyer than I'll give it a try.  The idea of what 'sparks joy' is interesting to me as well. I'll let you know how I like this one.

What's on your reading list this year? Anything good? Let me know in the comments below! Feel free to grab the quote below for your own blog/Instagram feed. I think it's a good one.
