Happy Monday all! I hope you all had a great weekend! I know I certainly did. On Saturday, Brian and I went down to Coronado Island in San Diego to view something that I consider pretty amazing...
That is the SS Monte Carlo, a shipwreck that happened in 1936 and it's been recently uncovered because of the El Nino storms we've been having. Recently uncovered, as in, was under the sand last year but isn't this year. How cool is that!? I learned about this a few weeks ago and absolutely had to make the drive South to see it for myself. You can read all about the story of the Monte Carlo here.
It was the coolest thing. We had to go at low tide and ended up getting there at the best time. There were still parking spots and we were able to really get some great shots while we were waiting. I was eventually able to get out there and actually stand on the ship. There is a picture of me doing this, but it's really not the best picture (i.e. me pointing to my husband saying, take the picture quick before I get swallowed up by a wave!). Speaking of waves...
The waves were really big this weekend because of the Indonesian earthquake. Fun fact: It usually takes 5-7 days for the waves to get to California from any event in Southeast Asia. It was absolutely beautiful.
