Good Monday everyone! This weekend was another laid back weekend, so instead I'm going to talk about one of the biggest trends in makeup right now: The Kylie Lip Kits.
I received my first lip kit after I won a giveaway and I've got to tell you, when I first tried it, I hated it. I really did. The color was Dolce K and it just looked like death on me. I found that it looked a lot lighter in the tube than how it applied. Also, it was very drying, like more than a typical long lasting lip.
Let me back up, in case you don't know, each lip kit comes with a long lasting liquid lip, and a lip pencil. I really liked the lip pencil, but I'm still not 100% sure you actually need it with this formula. The smell of these is also very sweet, which I typically don't like. Even given my misgivings, I decided to order another one in Candy K. This one I liked much more, but it still didn't apply in the same color as it is in the tube. Then I ordered Posie K and this one is my favorite for sure. Still the same issues with the dryness, lip pencil, and smell, but the color is amazing.
I'm not sure why, but even given all of the things that I don't like about these kits, I keep buying more. I can't figure out exactly why I like them, but I really do and I'd recommend you give at least one a try. The kits run for about $40 a piece, and it's tough to get one as well. These are the Kylie Metallics in King K and Reign K. These things are the absolute best formula of long lasting matte lip in the world. The formula is very moussey, applies like a dream, still smells very sweet, and every single time I wear one of these, I get a massive amount of compliments. Ladies, you need to get your hands on these. They are a matte long lasting lip, but they have a metallic sheen to them that doesn't go away, even when it dries.
Overall, both items are worth a try, but if you're going to get one or the either, go with the metallic. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Follow me on snapchat (shesleaningin1) if you want to see what these look like on the lips. I wear them all the time.
