If you're like I was a year ago, you're looking at the sheer amount of products there going, wha? Are you kidding? For your skincare regime? Seriously?
And I get it. It's a lot. However, over the last year, I've seen and tried a lot of new skincare items. I've done a lot of research and watched a lot of monthly favorite videos to come up with the skin care regime that I think will work best for me.
The most important thing I've learned is that if you do not remove your makeup entirely before bed, you will absolutely ruin your skin. Currently, I use Bioderma which is great, but I'm going to switch to the Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil. This oil actually breaks down the makeup on your skin and makes it easy to remove. From there, I'll go on to my ride or die cleanser, the Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Gelee Cleanser. This cleanser is fantastic and immediately changed my skin.
For a moisturizer, because I'm extremely oily, I'm going to begin using an essence. An essence is ideal for oily skin. It's not a cream, it's not a serum, instead it's a watered down combination of the two. The Boscia Cool Blue Hydration Essence has great reviews and I'm excited to try it. For spot moisture (because sometimes you just need a little extra oompf) I use the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist. I did a blog post about it here.
The Sunday Riley Luna Oil has become a cult classic. A very expensive cult classic, but a classic nonetheless. This is a retinal oil that helps resurface your skin at night to leave it revitalized and helps with any redness of discoloration you may have. I firmly believe that everyone should have a night cream or a night oil, and this one will be the one I give a shot.
The final three items are things every one should have in their skincare regime: a mask, an eye cream, and an exfoliant. I love the Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask by Origins. It leaves your skin clean, clear, and fresh every time. I currently use It's Potent by Benefit for my eye cream, which has helped with dark circles a ton, but I'd like an all-in-one, anti-aging, anti-dark circles eye cream. The Eye Dew by Farmacy seems to be this cream. I can't wait to try it. I've also checked out a fair amount of exfoliants, and found the Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder which you make into a paste and exfoliate your skin with it. I love this idea and hope it's awesome.
I'll keep you all posted as I continue to add these items to my skincare regime. Some of these items are very expensive, so it's going to take some time to collect everything, but we'll get there.
