Cooking with Spice | Raw Spice Bar #AD

Hello and happy Friday everyone! Thank you Lord we made it. A few weeks ago I was contacted by Raw Spice Bar and asked if I would be interested in sharing about their service on the blog.

Now, you know I love cooking, and Brian is a fantastic cook, so I was all about giving this a try. Raw Spice Bar is a monthly subscription service (automatic win) that sends you freshly ground spices inspired by a region throughout the world. This month's theme was Argentina and I'm not sorry that it was.

In each package you get three different spice packs along with suggested recipes for using them. There's also a little insert that talks about the region and how the spices were derived. The first package Brian and I used was the Dark Coffee & Chiles spice rub packet. This was one of the best spice rubs I've ever used on a steak. It had a great roasted flavor with just a little bit of spice and it made the steak very flavorful and juicy. Loved it.

The other two were Sun Dried Tomato Pizza and Chipotle Smoked Salt. The Sun Dried Tomato is totally not our style (ew). But the Chipotle Smoke Salt has been waiting for the right moment to use it. The recipe included suggests sprinkling it over vegetables, but we just haven't been inspired to do that yet. When we use it, I'll update you.

The Logistics. This is only $8/month which, I think, is a great deal for what you're getting. Some spices can run very expensive and freshly ground spices can be very expensive. You can set up a flavor profile and customize recipes for your diet. And, it's a great way to get out of a rut.

The Recommendation. If you are looking for a way to spice (pun intended) up your cooking, I'd give this a try. Brian and I would have never tried a Dark Coffee rub, had it not come in this package. So, do I recommend? Yes I do. It can really bring some new flavors to your kitchen for minimal cost a month.

Have a great weekend and Happy cooking!
