Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Mariah Carey I could have put the ultimate Mariah Carey song on here, but instead, I chose the *slightly* less popular of Christmas. This song is great and has been since Darlene Love did the original.
Do You Hear What I Hear by Carrie Underwood My dad and I were having a conversation yesterday about how Carrie Underwood's new single sounds like a different, less talented version of Carrie Underwood, and I said, believe me it's an act. This song proves it.
White Christmas by Bing Crosby This song is done by the master, Bing Crosby. And it holds a lot of meaning for me. I grew up in Minnesota, land of snow and ice. Christmas was always white and now that I'm in Southern California, Christmas sucks. I'm not going to lie. I hate it. But, this song always gives me hope.
O Holy Night by NSYNC O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song of all time and this might be my favorite arrangement. Leave it to a boy band to finally knock something out of the park.
Christmas Eve/Sarajevo by Trans-Siberian Orchestra You guys, no joke, my church does a rendition of this every Christmas Eve service and it ROCKS. The whole congregation starts doing the polite head-bang and rocks out for a solid 4 minutes. It's awesome.
Mele Kalikimaka by Bing Crosby This song immediately brings me to my all time favorite Christmas movie, Christmas Vacation. I watched it twice this weekend and I'm telling you, the scene where Chevy Chase is imaging that super good looking lady in the pool cracks me up every time....he's such a dude.
Blue Christmas by Elvis I would be remiss if I didn't include this song on my favorites list. It is undoubtably the best version of this song that exists. When Elvis starts this song in the only way Elvis can "I-I'll H-Have A Bluuuueeee...." Sigh. Gets me every time.
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee Is it just me or when you hear this do you think of Home Alone when he sets up the mannequin's/cardboard cut outs to make the robbers think there's a party going on in the house? Not only is this an iconic song, but it makes me smile thinking of that every time.
Run Rudolph Run by Chuck Berry Chuck Berry is, in my opinion, an underrated musician. I love a ton of his songs and this song is fantastic. Makes you want to jump up, like most of his songs, and start dancing!
