Weekending Projects

Welcome back to Monday everyone. I know, it sucks. But, seriously, we got this. This weekend was full of projects for me. I don't know if you've figured this out yet, but I'm kind of a homebody. There's a few reasons for this, but the biggest one is the Brian works basically every weekend so, while he's at work, it's me and Cooper (the dog) hanging out at home, and I'm generally okay with this.

This weekend was especially tough because Brian was done literally all day, from early in the morning to late at night, and when I'm alone that long, I need something to do otherwise I battle some anxiety. So, on Saturday, I set out to find a project...and wouldn't you know it? I nailed it.

A few weeks ago, I found this fabric at Joann's and thought it was cute. Then, 10 days later, I just had to have it. When I walked into Joann's they also had a ton of Valentine's Day Fabric, and for some reason, it just struck me. I had to have it all.

...I accidentally made this quilt on Saturday. Oops! That was not the intention, but hey, what can you do? For you crafters out there, this is the Japanese Afternoon Pattern which is available for free here. I like this one because it's super simple and only takes a few hours to put together.

I also finished the knitting portion of this Elephant pattern. I forgot to get stuffing at Joann's while I was there (pregnancy brain) so, assembling it will have to wait. But, it will look like this when it's done...

I also did some shopping for artwork for a friend of mine. I'm not going to post about the experience, because she might want to share (ok, it was Meg from MyMonochromaticLife) but we ended up finding some really cute pieces that I'm excited to see on the wall when she gets them.

This week I've got another doctor appointment, and we're going to beg my doc to give the gender another go. I've tried twice so far to see what the gender of the baby is, and twice, I've been denied! This baby doesn't care what we want. A preview of what's to come, I'm sure!

Hope everyone has a great week!
