Projects, Projects, Projects + Weekending

Good morning everyone! This weekend was the one weekend a month where Brian is actually not working, and typically these weekends are filled with either a lot of fun or a lot of projects. It shouldn't be surprising that we opted for the project-filled weekend, what with a nursery to put together and all. And guess what we did? We worked on the nursery...

On Saturday we got up, went to breakfast at this great breakfast place near us, and then started working on the nursery. First thing was first, we needed to paint. So we did. I'm absolutely in love with the color. It's Olympus White by Sherwin Williams (available at Lowe's). I really wanted something light and airy, that could work for a boy or a girl. It's glorious.

We also got the glider on Friday night, which was a generous gift from Brian's mom. The one we picked was from Target and while I would like to link it, it's now apparently unavailable. Sometimes I question Target's website...

After that, we went to work on the dresser we've decided to build for the baby. Somehow, Brian has convinced me he needs more tools to get the drawer faces done (he actually does) so next week we'll be picking up a miter saw, and router to finish all the necessary cuts. Let's just say that by the end of Saturday, we were pretty much done and the cuts our circular saw was making aren't going to cut it...

Disregard the janky sofa in the background. We're not that ghetto, I promise, we just haven't been able to get to a landfill yet...

On Sunday we got up early enough to hit IKEA and get a couple items for the nursery including our diaper 'crash cart' which you'll all be seeing soon and this hamper which I find is a very nice addition to the nursery. After that we basically just relaxed and enjoyed the day. (I lie, as I type this, Brian is painting said crash cart, but I'm relaxing...and that counts, right?)

Anyways, as you can see we had a very busy weekend. How was yours? I'd love to hear!

Linking Up with B Loved Boston to share about my weekend!

    1. You should go. It's a unique store! But I know they don't have them everywhere which is kind of a bummer...
